Being stressed out has become so much a part of our daily experience that many of us have come to accept it as just part of normal life. It is not only adults who complain of being stressed out these days, even 5 or 6-year old kids complain of being stressed out.
Since stress has become the norm in our daily life today, it is important we find simple, yet effective ways to combat and perhaps even prevent stressful incidents from ruining our life. The following is a 5-step approach you can start implementing right away. Some are easy and can be quickly adapted into your daily routine while others will require somehow more commitment in time and effort, but as the saying goes– every minute counts.

I had an interesting call from an old friend of mine two months ago. My friend, Pearl –not her real name –wanted to know from me whether there are any proven natural-based remedies in the fight against stress or depression.
Pearl and I met in graduate school many years back and became close friends. We parted ways upon graduation. She to the West coast while I found myself attracted to the East coast. For the first few years, we maintained close contacts sharing our new experiences with each other. She got a good job as business news editor for her local newspaper and loved what she did. I on the other hand decided to take matters in my own hands. I decided to start and run my own business. With time however we both got so busy with our careers that we couldn’t find the time to sustain the very close relationship we once had. And so we lost contact with each other and didn’t communicate on a regular basis for the last 7 to 8 years.
